The repeated bending test method has proven effective, offering advantages like simple equipment setup, sensitive defect detection, user-friendly operation, and short testing cycles. This method can be adapted from the GB235-33 National Standard for Metal Repeated Bending Test Machines (Model GWJ-5), requiring only minor modifications and component replacements for band material testing.

The system can detect three types of defects: 

a.Internal steel defects (e.g., fine cracks, pinholes, etc.). 

b.Harmful impurities in steel (e.g., excessive non-metallic inclusions, enrichment of harmful elements at grain boundaries, etc.). 

c. Heat treatment defects (e.g., coarse grains, quenching cracks, network carbides, temper brittleness). Practical experience shows that when combined with tensile and hardness tests, it can simultaneously identify defects caused by cold and hot processing, demonstrating significant economic benefits. This approach substantially reduces band saw fracture incidents and enhances the quality of band saws.
